Education

Education is at the very core of the Home Builders Association mission. Building industry professionals recognize the HBA as a premier repository of housing knowledge and regularly turn to the association for their continuing education needs. Through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and its state and local affiliates, members and non-members receive the information and preparation that allow them to gain the competitive edge needed in our ever-changing industry.

In order to provide easier access, more efficient management, enhanced program quality, and comprehensive information about educational opportunities, The NAHB University of Housing was formed to consolidate educational offerings into one location. We invite you to invest in your professional growth and the success of your business by earning a designation, attending an event, or simply taking a course or two.

LEAD SAFETY TRAINING - RRP Courses

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently enacted new regulations affecting contractors performing renovation work in residential dwellings or child-occupied facilities built before 1978. This regulation is called “Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair, and Painting” (RRP). Beginning in April 2010, any renovation work (including painting) done for compensation, which disturbs painted surfaces in residential dwellings or child-occupied facilities built before 1978, must be performed by an EPA certified company, using persons trained in lead-safe work practices. Each job is required to have a Certified Renovator on-site to perform specific responsibilities.

To become a Certified Renovator, a person must attend an 8-hour EPA-approved training course. HBAGK offers several course dates -  Click Here to see upcoming RRP Courses.
