The Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo, established in 1941, is the professional association for members of the housing industry in Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren Counties as well as the southern halves of Allegan and Barry Counties. Builder members consist of residential contractors, remodelers, and developers. Associate members represent all professions that support the home building industry.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo (HBAGK) exists so that members of the residential construction industry can ethically and efficiently provide our communities with safe, quality, and affordable housing. It is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders [www.nahb.org] and the Michigan Association of Home Builders [www.buildingmichigan.org].
The vision of the organization is to advocate on behalf of members so they maximize their capability for success in the housing industry. The goals of the HBAGK are to promote home ownership, be a recognized voice of the community, support economic growth and development of the community, and to promote the professionalism of members in the industry.
Annually, the HBAGK produces the Home Expo and Parade of Homes. Members of the association present their businesses and finished homes to the community through these events. The organization and its members give back to the community through charity events such as, Fast-Built and Ramp-a-thon.

As members in good standing of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo, we believe in, and accept, the responsibilities and obligations inherent in providing housing and its related infrastructure. Basic to these ethical beliefs, we support the following objectives:
Members assume the responsibilities in this Code of Ethics freely and solemnly and are mindful that these responsibilities are a part of their obligation as members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo. We also believe that home ownership should be within reach of all Americans.
Finally, because we hold inviolate the free enterprise system and American way of life, we pledge our support to our members, our local, state, and national associations, and all related industries concerned with the preservation of inalienable rights and freedoms.

The HBAGK actively monitors and works with municipalities in the area, lobbies local and state governmental officials and legislation, represents the building industrys position on a variety of regulatory issues including land use, fees, building & development regulations. In Washington, DC, the National Association of Home Builders lobbying team represents your interests at a national level.
3. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Many opportunities are presented to the HBAGK members throughout the year for new and continuing education courses. The HBAGK realizes education is an important part of membership and strives to bring to its members current and cutting edge courses at affordable prices.
4. MARKET YOURSELF
Many HBAGK members take advantage of the numerous opportunities to advertise and market their products and services to other members. Whether its an ad in Builders Voice, HBAGKs monthly newsletter; advertising in the annual membership directory, sponsoring a special event, participation in Home Expo or Parade of Homes or advertising on the HBAGK website, theres no doubt that there is no limit to marketing our members!
5. NETWORKING WITHIN YOUR INDUSTRY
The HBAGK offers its members many opportunities throughout the year to network amongst your industry peers. Our General Membership Meetings (GMMs), bring HBAGK members together and are a great way to develop new business contacts in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. All members are urged to get involved with the numerous Events and Committees available for your participation with your HBAGK membership.
