Santa Barbara, CA - April 5, 2007 - Whitestone Research, a leading authority on facility cost forecasting, today released BrickBits.com, the world's first home cost calculator for consumers.

By zip code, BrickBits.com estimates twelve home costs: Cleaning, Trash/Recycling, Maintenance & Repair, Energy, Water/Sewer, Landscaping, Pest Control, Security, Phone, TV, Internet and Property Taxes.

"Homeowners are at a disadvantage when they re-model, relocate or simply re-negotiate. How much should it cost to live in a particular home?" says Peter Lufkin, Whitestone's President. "BrickBits answers these questions with the same tools used for some of the largest facilities in the world."

BrickBits.com started as an experiment. According to Lufkin, "Whitestone forecasts costs to operate complex structures, from launch pads to nuclear research facilities, but had not looked at residential costs. What we found was, with a little adjustment, the same statistical models and data worked for homes."
