LEGAL ACTION FUND
Support to the Legal Action fund allows the HBA of Michigan to engage in legal cases and lawsuits that affect the construction and housing industry. This fund ensures we have the tools needed should we have to file an amicus brief or become engaged in a legal battle. Most recent battles include: Challenging the Illegal Implementation of a New Michigan Energy Code, Demanding Our Legal Fees be Paid Back in our Permit Fee Overcharge Case/Victory Against the City of Troy, Opposing the Adoption of a Natural Gas Ban on New Construction in the City of Ann Arbor, Advising the City of Kentwood that a Proposed Ordinance Violates Michigan’s Uniform Codes, notice sent to Oshtemo Twsp in regards to the illegal use of building department dollars.
